Gene was the first "real" conductor for the Milford Community Band. In addition to conducting the band he was also a teacher at the Delaware Music School. Gene was the band director for Cape Henlopen school district for many years.
Dave primarily served as conductor for MCB during the summer months . Dave was as a band director for the Caesar Rodney School District. In the mid to late 60's he was Director of the Dover Air Force Base Band program (Grades 4-12). He then taught Beginner Band students (grades 4-6) in most of the Caesar Rodney School District elementary schools until his retirement in the early 80's.
Phil is the current conductor of the band. In addition to conducting for the Milford Community Band, Phil has also been a band director for Dover Air Base High School and St. Thomas Moore Academy.
Glenn is the Associate Director of the Milford Community Band. After attending the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Glenn served as a percussionist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra before joining the United States Army Band in Washington DC. In addition to his musical endeavors, Glenn has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and as Director of Sussex County EMS until retiring in 2010.
Velvet is an Assistant Director for the Milford Community Band. Velvet earned her B.Ed. in Secondary Instrumental Music from the University of Hawai‘i in 1985, followed by an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Delaware State University in 2009 and an Ed.D. from Wilmington University in 2019.

Velvet is an Assistant Director for the Milford Community Band. Velvet earned her B.Ed. in Secondary Instrumental Music from the University of Hawai‘i in 1985, followed by an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Delaware State University in 2009 and an Ed.D. from Wilmington University in 2019.
Her teaching career began in Groton, Connecticut, where she taught elementary general music from 1998 to 2001. Upon returning to Delaware, she served as a band and orchestral strings educator in the Capital School District (2001–2009) and later in the Appoquinimink School District (2009–2021), retiring from public school teaching after more than two decades of service.
